CONCEPT
Our group interviewed students who had come to Japan from ASEAN countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam and were studying in various specialist fields. They talked about their lives in Japan, how they felt it differed from their own countries, and what their visions for the future were. We used a documentary-style format in order to convey their genuine attraction to living and studying in Japan.
HIGHLIGHT
The students who came to the interviews felt that their lives in Japan were very comfortable. But they were also open and honest in talking about the way they sometimes felt very unsettled or confused by aspects of Japanese life that are different from their own countries. We think this openness makes this video even more real. We think the video also allows us to appreciate what these students would like to achieve and their passion -- the sorts of work they would like to do one day and their wish to create an environment in which they can work and use the knowledge and wisdom that they gained from their studies in their own countries.
