As the numbers of foreign students studying and working in Japan are increasing, we have come to live in an era where the importance of multicultural co-existence in society is a topical issue. We made a documentary on SHIMADA Kazuko, who, as a teacher, has been engaged in Japanese language education for a long time. Based on interviews we did at Acras Japanese Language Education Institute, a venue for encounter and dialogue, at the Hamamatsu Foreign Resident Study Support Center, where international exchange is promoted at the citizen's level, and at the East West Japanese Language School, where Japanese language education takes place, we made this documentary video focus on the actual on-site teaching approach and the growing bonds between the people surrounding Mrs. SHIMADA.
Mrs. SHIMADA, always energetic, is a teacher who never stops. While covering her for our video, she gave us power and at the same time the courage to be strong in live.
